I would suggest that this forum would be well served by a thread that lists only programs that are absolutely free.

The "freeware/shareware" thread is very hard to process because everyone is listing stuff without saying whether it's free or costs $30-50.

Anyone agree that it would be a good idea to start a thread for listing everyone's favorite Mac OS programs that are 100% free (or "postcardware" or "donationware" etc.)?

HandBrake is a really cool video conversion app.

OnyX is a great maintenance app.

Imagine BootX is all about eye-candy before the real thing shows in your desktop.

Goliath is great to use/manage the dot mac idisk.

Mactracker is a must in everyone Mac. I wish there was available something like it but aimed to the software side of Apple.

You want MenuMeters installed in your Mac.

If you care about your hard disk(s), SMARTReporter is a must.

Camino with its Gecko engine is a beautiful browser. Don't forget CaminIcon to give Camino a prettier face.

Little Snitch, to keep an eye on those apps that like to phone home.

Adium, kinda iChat loaded with a eleventybillion of features.

MPEG Streamclip, the only way I can convert those mpg files to an iPod Video without loosing the sound track.

Senuti, to copy songs from your iPod to your Mac.
