I had 10.4 Tiger on my iMac and then downloaded 9.1 on the unit, how do I get back to the 10.4 on the mac so I can use the DVD drive that's in the Mac??

i think you want a version of 9.2. can you actually download 9?

The computer had 10.4 on it. I just want to know after I loaded the 9.1 on it, can I get the 10.4 back like it was??

hold the letter x down during a restart and it'll throw into tiger.

What if I wanted to go back to the 9.1 ??? Do I do the same thing??

I did this and nothing happened. Did I do it right, I held the x key down while I mashed the restart button but it still came on as 9.1

works for me when i press select restart from special menu. also if you upgrade 0s9.1 to 9.2.2 from apple support you can select tiger as startup option from control panels. no you do not do the same thing to get back into 9. while in tiger open system preferences then starup disc and select 9.

just reread your post. keep holding the x down while restarting until it looks like you're starting up in osx.
