I recently installed the latest upgrade to openGL (it's 1.1.2) from a cd (macworld) and now I can't run anything that uses OpenGL i.e. quakeII or quakeIII. It was fine before I upgraded , but now my system just freezes. I'm using OS 8.6. I suspect it's an extensions conflict but there are so many extensions involved (Quicktime, ATI extensions, Open GL extensions - and any or all of them could have been altered by the upgrade). I don't relish the thought of re-installing the old system software. Am I missing something? Any thoughts.

I think that you need to reinstall ATI video drivers from the ATI 4.2.1 universal installer.
