One of my two major Finder issues has been addressed. I called this a victory, w00t.

Finder and applications that allow you to browse the file system will now refresh the contents of a remote network volume's folder or directory when the folder's contents change.
EDIT: Can those of you who installed the update try something? 1) Open a Finder window in column view, 2)preview a Quicktime movie, 2) try to select something on the desktop. Does selecting items work properly? Or does the Finder go bananas? Thanks!

I wonder what that means? I mean proper updating of the finder view (as in one that responds to terminal actions) doesn't even work for local disks. What could they have done that would improve this on remote volumes?

From software update (69.9mb):

Key enhancements include:

network volumes are now available in the Finder sidebar and Desktop for convenient access
improved file sharing and directory services for Mac (AFP), UNIX (NFS) and PC (SMB/CIFS) networks
improved PostScript and USB printing
improved font management
updated Disk Utility, DVD Player, Image Capture, Mail and Safari applications
additional support for FireWire and USB devices
new ATI and NVIDIA graphics drivers
improved compatibility for third party applications
FileVault, FireWire 800 and WebDAV improvements from Update 10.3.1
previous standalone security updates and Bluetooth Update 1.5

For detailed information on this Update, please visit this website: http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n25713

Important Note:
Apple has identified an issue with external FireWire hard drives using the Oxford 922 bridge chip-set with firmware version 1.02 that can result in the loss of data stored on the disk drive. Even with the improvements available in this update, Apple recommends you update the firmware on your FireWire drive. Please contact your drive manufacturer for more information.

If anyone's running a 867mhz 12" PB can they let me know if it cures the 10.3.2 fan issues? I'm still on 10.3.1 because of that.

Finder goes bananas. Never noticed this before. Did you report it?

Can someone with new PB17" or PB15" with the Radeon 9600 GPU check what extension gets loaded under 10.3.2? (Using System Profiler)

With 10.3.3 Radeon9700 gets loaded ... and I could swear my PB 15" 1.25 is way more snappy than before. Just the GUI. In Mozilla I can switch between Tabs awfully fast ...

At least they took care of the tab-bug, where new tabs sometimes would not open correctly and the bookmarks-bar would disappear.

Finally all share points mount on the desktop and sidebar, sweet.

So far so good. I'll be on the road seeing clients tomorrow so I'm looking forward to seeing if the flakiness of networking is gone.

Everything appears to be fine.

That was a big update. On my PB it took over 20 minutes from download to restart. Restart took nearly 6 minutes! Then I restarted again and it still took about 3 minutes. (Good thing I only restart to update.) Optimizing took a really long time as well.

Haven't noticed if it fixed the fan issue on my 867. It's not running now if that's any consolation.

Getting this today is a nice surprise.

iMac DVSE later this evening. Hoping it has fixed the XBox using a wirless connection trick. This hasn't worked since Jaguar.

Fan just kicked...

Finder goes bannanas
No problems doing that here either. This is also with iTunes running, various graphics, apps, safari and software update downloading. 10.3.2 on a Quicksilver dual 800.

EDIT: OK now I see what the guy was talking about. If you try to do an AREA selection while having a playing QT movie in column preview the selection area flickers. Maybe the reason that Apple never fixed it was because the bug wasn't explained plainly enough...

My finder goes bananas when selecting desktop icons while previewing a QT movie in column mode.

For starters, it is a non-MDD G4 867 quicksilver with 1.12GB ram, and an nvidia geforce 2mx twinview with dual head, running the fresh new 10.3.3.

Even though this is a large update, it appears that's it's the incremental update. I expect a larger combo updater in a few days. Am I wrong?

Remember that it also includes some previous standalone updates, like the latest security update, Bluetooth, Safari, etc. Still seems large though. :/

Also, can I safely force quit the installer and logout instead of restarting?

I don't see how you can - there are loads of low level changes in there, including a new login window.app

On 10.3.3. Finder goes bananas, confirmed. Finder or Quicktime also does not consistently update the little play/pause icon in the column view.

I suspect one of the major flaws of Mac OS X is QuickTime.. or QT integration. A *lot* of problems stem from interaction between the System and QT.

I don't use Column view, so I don't have a problem with this...
