Bluetooth is off on iphone, there is no device in the house, yet, when I call someone, the speakphone icon is bluetooth and not speakerphone.

Do you mean the phone function's "speaker" icon isn't a speaker but rather the stylized "B" Bluetooth icon?

THANKS A, not neighbors, figured it out but still don't what to do:

new update; I figured it out but still don't what to do:

It's my ATT cable modem and if the iphone is has wifi turned on.

If i turn Wifi off, then problem goes away. But problem is not solved as I have to turn wifi on/ and off. on off, weird bug..

Also tested wifi in Starbucks and one other place and issue did not happen.

Huh, and I was hoping it was the government agents staked out in the van. Would make for a cool story.

Are you sure about the cable modem? A modem should not generate a BT signal. When the icon appears, I suggest using your iPhone to check for nearby BT devices. See what it's seeing.

Reader, no BT devices are on, and done test, on/ off, definitely my ATT modem.

That said, this never happened with the iphone 6 I had 6 months ago. I got refurbished iphone 7, and then started. (and to add to mix, it's intermittent)

Sounds like Wifi calling. You can turn it off in Settings -> Phone.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

Yes, but then why do I have to turn off wifi to get the speakerphone icon to not show bluetooth?

If you turn off WiFi calling as I described, does it still look like that?

You mean turn off wifi? Is that different than wifi calling? same?
When I turn off wifi, the problem goes away.

But that is a huge nuisance. I shouldn't have to turn off wifi to use speakerphone easily. Started with iphone 7

Find the toggle for Wi-Fi Calling here: Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling
It is not the same as turning on/off WiFi.

Thanks T. ok Wifi calling is off. So let's discuss this first.

If it's off, then why am I able to use Whatapp, which is a wifi calling app?

I've never even noticed this setting in settings before.

In control center the circular wifi icon is on. I assume when that is on, I call free with whatspp, or facetime.. etc.. I'm assuming that circle icon there is enabling the calling for free..??
