]I have an old Lexar flashcard reader GS-UFD-20SA-TP. It worked fine in system 9.1 but on my imac runnin tiger won't appear on my desktop. Does anyone know of a solution? if not I'll just have to get another card reader. That leads to: Does anyone know which card reader works with an imac with 10.5.8 OS. Don't want to invest in any more unneeded sh%&, I mean stuff for this freakin thing.
Thanks Folks!

Try rebooting, making sure the card reader is plugged into a port on the iMac, not a usb hub.

Do you have a flashcard inserted? The reader itself will not show up.

I can't recall which version of the OS that it started with, but the default setting on current versions is not to have disks show up on the desktop by default. I don't know if 10.5.8 does this, but check in Finder preferences to see if the check boxes are checked to show disks on the desktop.
