i have a first-generation (late 2008) 13" macbook, the first aluminum one (before "pro" was added back to the name). so, a 2.4ghz intel core 2 duo processor, and 4gigs ram.

i've read that i can install 6 gigs ram on this machine (a 4gig and a 2 gig chip).

anyone done this? anything to gain? any thoughts, anyone??
and can i just add a 4gig chip, or do i really need two same-manufacturer, same-spec'd chips?

go for it good boos and as long as you buy crucial ram or from transintl.com or macsales.com you'll be fine and will enjoy the performance gain multi-task your heart out i did the same thing and haven't looked back love it . so treat your self and enjoy that mac for a bit longer .
