Hi!

My macbook is now en-route from China, and I'm looking for some quality ram for it. However, the selection is not enourmous in my country. I can get Crucial sticks for 245 US$, but I think almost 500$ is a bit much for 2 gigs of ram. The same shop has some sticks of the brand Corsair, is that a reliable brand? The sticks are called: Corsair Value DDR2 SO-DIMM PC5300 1024MB 667mhz.

Is this a good choice, because I can get them for 140 US$ per stick. I'd really appreciate a swift response, as the number the shop has in stock is dropping fast

Ok, I'm just a bit in doubt because of the "low" price, and the fact that another guy in a local forum said that Value-ram a typically not tested ram, and they are likely to have issues, and that I should buy more expensive sticks. But I think the Crucial ram is to expensive for me, so I was hoping someone here had tried Corsair ram, or had some good advice to bring to the table.

Corsair is a very well known RAM company. I can't personally vouch for their value models, but based on the company's reputation, I would recommend that you go for it. If there is anything wrong with one of your modules, I'm sure either Corsair or the seller you buy it from will be willing to replace it.

I have some of their value ram in my ibook and it works great. My ibook is used daily and I beat the heck out of the ram since I never restart the machine (365 uptime, and now another 183 days).

Sounds good. I'm not a power-user, I'll just use it for internet, webdesign and occasional photoediting. The reason why I want much ram is because I like machines that respond at once. I hate waiting for windows to open etc...

I ordered 2 sticks of the Corsair ram. Thank you for your response, I appreciate it!
