So yea, this guy crashed his newly purchased Ford Escape into a local dealership, then poured gas all over the mess and lit it up... burned down half a Ford GT supercar in the process..
He talked to the news once or twice after the incident, and then just this morning, he's killed himself on a United flight in Washington DC.
crapola!

Bloody Hell. Poor guy, sounds like he was just a tad unhinged.
But what an excellent sense for the dramatic.

yea, I felt bad when I saw his interview with local news, he just kept sayin 'it was stupid, it was a stupid thing'
now, facing sentencing and restitution ($1 million+ damages to dealership), he decided it was too much.
don't sign that paperwork unless you're ready to pay!

I saw about the crash into the dealership on local news in Boston. Very sad by the death. Apparently having a lot of problems.

I guess life doesn't look all that pleasant when you're facing 1mil+ of debt Sh¡t happens when you light a dealership on fire though.

We've been following this story down here in Florida since the afternoon it happened.
When he was spotted by police on the street after walking home after torching the dealership he yelled at the police, "Just kill me! Just shoot me! I want to die!"
He was extremely distraught.
There were a lot of sympathetic people here in Florida because, locally, a LOT of people started speaking up about the scams and shoddy practices of that particular dealership. One law enforcement official was said to be gathering information to conduct an audit of the dealership because so many people had stepped forward and alleged illegal sales at that place.
to the dealership for supposedly selling him a car for $21,990 and then he gets home and it says $24,990 on the invoice.
There are certainly a lot of unscrupulous car dealers and dealerships in this country, that's for sure.

And I would propose that once the feet stop kicking, people are indeed meat. Might have started out hanged, but hung in the end.
And no, I don't mean to make light of this persons misfortunes, death, or the devastation this has caused his family. I'm not unsympathetic, just a little jaded and cynical.

ironic how on the last picture from the first link, the dealership window says #1 in customer satisfaction. Guess not.

Haha, no kidding! What an odd turn of events.
He should have gone with the Hybrid Escape though...

There was obviously a lot going on with this guy, and it's sadder because it appears that either nobody tried to help him, or he didn't let anyone help him. Either way, it does look like he was killed by his own demons. Not a nice way to end.
