I open a Finder window, type a name in the find box and a list of files appears, including some duplicates. My only list/sort option is Contents or Name, how can I sort that list by size for example, i.e. to find the highest resolution version of a filename that may have appeared multiple times. Have I missed something or have Apple royally screwed up here?

Thanks!

Hi! WOPR, Go to Finder & type in search kind:movie, then click on the + sign below the search next to save button. You'll see a new list for search criteria, click on the first button which has Kind & go all the way down the list that pops out to Other! this will bring forward a new list in a drop down-list go to Size & check the checkbox & any other word you think you might need.

In Leopard search results can not be sorted by size.

@ DarkStarRed: I think you misunderstand me, it's the results I want to be able to sort by size order, like you can in a standard Finder window. I've looked on the Apple support site and it seems I'm very much not alone in wondering why on earth Apple removed this feature from Leopard. It's totally mad.

@ TETENAL: Isn't it just bizarre?

I thought you meant within Finder! The snapshots below if working should show what I mean.
It's a few extra clicks but you can search by size.

I do mean in the Finder, I mean the window of results that is displayed *after* doing a search, which doesn't have an option for size sorting like a normal Finder window has.

Dam! I just can't seem to get any links to work for pic's (
I find that strange because I can & only if I could get these pics up with out ULR showmee doesn't work well here. Will admin please help me out I'll send pics to you to post here please.

Anyway after doing search with Spotlight or with Finder you have the "SAVE" button & a + directly under the search-field, if clicked you get a second list of choices Kind, Any when you click Kind you should get a list go to Other then the drop downlist scroll to Size tick checkbox.

Unless you want this direct via typing in search, it can not be done unfortunately.

Sorry but you still don't understand. I know I can search by size, I want to sort the list of results by size. There is no way of doing this in Leopard due to Apple's idiocy.

When we type command-J to see the view options for the results window,
we instead get: "There are no view options for the " " window."

One can only hope Apple intends to remedy that goof in 10.5.2+

I see what you mean now, sorry for my thick headiness.
That seems strange since in list view size-column can be seen, but no way to add size-column has option?
