How can I verify that I have the most current firmware installed?

Go to Apple Support, place your cursor over the iMac image, and click 'software updates'. Then use the search field to search for 'imac firmware'. Simple as that.

Accordingly, the latest iMac firmware update is version 2.4 for both the English-International and English-North American language versions.
