Is this an old GTO or the new GTO? If the former, I love old nostalgia but turning corners is much cooler

It's the old GTO. You can see it in the top left corner of the photo I posted. I like the new GTO as a Holden or Vauxhall, but it shouldn't have been called the GTO in America.

It's from Top Gear...
How tall are you? I'm 6'4" and I fit just fine on the throne. And even at this altitude, (5.5k feet), there is enough power to pass. It's not a rocket for sure, but it's doable as long as you plan ahead. Unless you're talking about a lesser motor, but anything less than the 1.6L must be unbearable.

Alas, it’s not. It’s an ’80s hipster concept (electric) car. You might still see one coming down the road once in a while around here.

Planning ahead to overtake? How much fun is that?! I hit the gas in my GTI and go to Warp Speed immediately.

Ah well. The Mrs likes her little car, and that's all that matters really.

Ha ha, well I kind of like it. You learn how to drive efficiently and respect your speed.

Not that I would say no to a GTI

Grand Cherokee SRT8, 425HP but you can't tow anything and it's a relatively small SUV for the price.

The GC SRT-8 is at least way cheap compared to the Cayenne. But of course it can't go off pavement at all.

oh, and it's got a transfer case made of glass if you try to mod it.

and it's not like you can't tow because they tell you not to, the thing has CENTER exhaust outlets so fabbing a hitch of any strength is nearly impossible.

What? The front half of the case is standard 5.7L Hemi GC, the rear half is "a heavier duty" case. I don't think I've ever heard of any case being made of glass. And there are PLENTY of SRT8's with 700 hp or more.

I was remembering this, but I didn't remember the part where it was putting down 900+

921-HP Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 Annihilates its Transmission

It's still useless.

Uh, yeah, that's why they have these things called "scatter shields". The fact dude was making that much power (with nitrous, hence the huge tanks in the back) and didn't have one just shows the owners own stupidity.

Haha, very well put. My only arguement is the fact that you want a Porsche. Most people who think of the manufacturer don't think SUV. They think of a little coupe with 2 seats and a short shifter. If I wanted a porsche I don't think I would drop money on an SUV and not get the full Porsche experience.

But then again, wifey-town always has something to say hah.

Well, these days the obvious choice is the Panamera.

Which, after having seen it in person, I must say is surprisingly beautiful.

The luxury car market is not the phone market, it is more like the videogame market, you have the Wii, the MS and the Sony devices, assumption: Sega unveils a new machine, do we need it?, really?, nooo, it's crowded already !!
BMW, Mercedes, Audi… nobody needs another german luxury car. Hence, it was my entry as the pointless car ever, not piece of crap. Point-less car ever.

My wife comes back from a trip to North Carolina to visit friends, and she's driving a "Smart" thingy. I hesitate to call this a car, but it has four wheels and an engine the size of a hamster cage. The build quality is terrible (feels like it was made by Fisher-Price), it drives like a lawnmower, and has all the comfort of an Iron Maiden (cue Bill and Ted). Luckily, she still has her truck, a Dodge Ram diesel, and the "Smart" was only $16k.

Up until the mid 1980s, Panamanian police used VW bugs... Then they got some Crown Vics from the US and moved to those. I think the bugs did better with the roads outside the Zone than the Crown Vics.

I realize that Americans may not be aware of this, but in most other countries, 99% of police work does not involve high-speed chases and CNN-broadcast live pursuits.

"High speed" and Panamanian roads at the time are not compatible. It's not like California there-lots of mountains, hills, turns and twists.

We have nine mountain ranges in California, and San Francisco is famous for having hills, turns, and twists.

Maybe you mean Florida.
