Sir Jonathan Ive, Apple's senior VP of industrial design and the man responsible for most of the iconic looks of the products that have come from the company for the last 20 years, has bought a new home in the exclusive Pacific Heights neighborhood known as San Francisco's "Gold Coast." Though listed for $25 million, Ive is said to have bought the 1927 estate, which features six bedrooms in a 7,274 square foot, five-level brick home with a slate roof for $17 million. Ive, who has a wife and twin sons, has lived in the San Francisco area for 20 years during his time at Apple.

The home features a garden courtyard, top-level deck with spa, and six wood-burning fireplaces, windows surrounded by stone, a bottom-level two-bedroom apartment (originally intended for servants). The house includes an oak-paneled library, views of San Francisco bay (including both the bridge and Alcatraz, among other sights) and a gourmet kitchen (pictures from real estate listings seen below). The main level features a series of formal rooms, including the library, a gallery hallway, dining room and catering kitchen. An elevator can take residents to the two upper floors, which are all bedrooms. A back staircase in the catering kitchen leads to the main kitchen one level down, which also features a fitness room (or possible extra guest suite), and the main living area. The floor below has a two-bedroom, one-bath apartment style setup with its own kitchen (the house has a total of eight and half baths altogether), as well as a study. The upper areas consist of a bedroom with a high, cathedral-style ceiling with exposed beams and a wood-burning fireplace (there are a total of six fireplaces throughout the house), accompanied by a penthouse room with a full bath, French doors and a sundeck with spa. Ive, 45, was knighted earlier this year in his native England by Princess Anne.

Well you're off to a good start here with a first post like that.

The original article has since been corrected. If you could see my finger (haha) you would see that it is pointing to the line where it notes that the post was edited earlier today.
