This has been touched on before, but I think it deserves it's own thread. I really wish somebody would release a theme at least inspired by this:

I know the side bits aren't possible, but something similar could be incorporated into the titlebar. Obviously BBX made the above for Alienware, so I wouldn't want it so close as to be ripping anybody off, but I would love something at least inspired by this. I know a few weeks back there was some interest in creating a StormTrooper style theme. They sound like they could be very similar. Is there any progress on those, or any interest in starting a theme from fresh based on the above?

I agree. But it's not going to happen, BBX isn't going to do it because the rights to that interface are owned by AW now even if he was willing to make it into a Mac theme. On top of that it wouldn't look the same without the borders and stuff, and the final factor is that BBX is a busy guy.

I don't know how an inspired theme would work... I'm guessing it would lose it's charm, and it's hard to get that quality of graphics from just anyone. Give it a try though.

This kinda works for me right now:

Click this to see, 1440x900

theme is the blue variant of the Fresh theme from Xiap done by Enzo.

A theme that would work well is Shinobi. But in either metal or white'ish.

We pestered Makki for them. I think he converted them from ICOs. I understand he is currently seeking permission to distribute them properly.

Look in the Object Dock section at www.wincustomize.com

They are in PNG format, but just use Iconverter to make them ICNS ones and Pixadex to make them true OS X icons.

Not all icons are there but a few like some of those you see on my desktop. I made some custom ones with CanCombineIcons (the Graphics HD and Storage HD)

edit : look here http://www.wincustomize.com/skins.as...29&SkinID=4774

Awsome, Thanks! I used Pic2Icon to convert them though. Its much easier and faster than what you said.

I'm thinking that a mod of Shinobi done in white with the stripes removed or perhaps a white SIRO (rather than grey) would both be very nice...

I assume all mods need the original creators approval, right?

Anybody want to undertake the task of attempting to get approval and doing it? If I knew what I was doing I'd give it a shot but sadly I don't and even if I did I'm like the only Mac user on the planet without Photoshop ;-)

what a pity, I guess it means we will not be getting AA icons from voo and skinplant. I've been using the Alienware gui on one of my peecees here, and I must say, it doesn't help...windows still sucks :/

Peace,
ResExcellence is the official home of MightyMouse Cursors. They have been moving to another server and were down for a while but they are mostly back up now, including the Cursor section. I assume they are accepting uploads again. You should upload them there and post a link on these forums. In the meantime, I would love to see this set. Could you eMail it to me ([email protected])? Thanks.

A version of this theme would be kickass. Not that anyone cares what *I* think.

Or do they?

As long as you keep stating the f**king obvious I'll agree with anything you say. lol only joking. It certainly would be kickass. Thanks for your support on the matter.

Actually, while perusing my installed themes, I rediscovered (I think) DigitalJames' TiBook-Milk V2 mod. He has gone for a StormTrooper armor type look, which looks pretty close to the kind of thing I was thinking of. If this was sharpened up a bit (angular rather than rounded corners), and had a few blue LEDs thrown in, we could be getting somewhere. Of course, it would still be based on a mod, and therefore other people's themes, but it may have evolved enough by then to not matter.

Yeah. The glossy black of Jetblack is much closer to what we want than the gray rubber of Shinobi. The blue LEDs from Shinobi would be great though. I'm thinking JetBlack with white parts on the titlebar, and blue LED Shinobi widgets.

It's available for download at the XIAP forums though I didn't care for it because the widgets are too large.

Looks like BBX has been busy.

BTW I would get HIS permission before porting over any of his themes.

I hardly doubt anyone here can really match his "touch"

Yeah. It won't be a port of the theme, just inspired by it. That is to say glossy white, with glossy black bits and blue LED bits. It probably won't look much like BBXs theme, but as long as it looks cool, slick, futuristic and Alienwaresque, I'm happy.

First post!

I've been watching this topic with anticipation, and decided to just compile some pre-existing stuff and see the result.

Shinobi titlebar buttons look awesome in my opinion, as do the shinobi progress bars, checkboxes and sliders.

I just did a similar thing to what digitaljames did using the Garageband finder buttons, and then added the Shinobi stuff.

Here's a shot:

Thanks!

Being my first attempt at Thempark and theming, I was Just messing around with text colours and the appearance colour (in the appearance control panel, and found some cool results (IMO).
Screen:

Only problem is that now the highlight colour is black, when I highlight text it becomes impossible to see!

And I got the Shinobi apple menu icon for its active form, and that looks nice.

can someone please use the chocolate milk theme and mod it to have those black garage band buttons? that would be the perfect theme. I love those transparent black menus in chocolate mik... and add that with the garage band buttons, will be awesome...

and can someone also do a mod for itunes 4.6 to match the lcd screen to a nice blue? I been trying to mess with hexedit for awhile now and still cant get exactly what I want it to look like... if someone can package all this up into a guikit, would be awesome!

Sheesh, BBX wasn't kidding when he said a preview would get ripped.

The guy is getting kudos for DJ's work though it is technically a mod of someone else's but that's not mentioned anyplace.

One this is obvious, it's vastly easier to make a Windows theme otherwise these ripped themes couldn't exist before the real thing.
