and Aussiemac - good job. We're not talking about the Z06, we're talking about the ZR1. And yea the ride will be harsh(bad? not to me). It's a SUPERCAR. Also, do you hang on every word Clarkson has ever said about all cars? More than any car program ever, his show is about entertainment and opinion.
Have any of you people seen, with your own two eyeballs, a 2007+ Corvette interior. Probably not, they're pretty nice. Want leather stitched everything? Go get something else, this thing is a serious piece, and it's not for 99% of the people that posted in this thread. Pussies are inspecting the 'Vette's interior, while real dudes are checking out the 15" brakes, the diabolical carbon roof, or maybe the 625HP powerplant. This isn't your coked-out uncle's 1989 Corvette.
There hasn't been an attractive Corvette since blah blah blah..

It will be a roots-style supercharger, it should have a bit of a whine - not unlike the Ford F150 Lightning and 2003-2004 Mustang Cobra. From the rear, however, it will be raucous.

It is not being pussy and stuff like that, this is much like any Ferrari, they could be gorgeous outside but once you get inside, the thing sucks too much to be even funny, let's be honest, an Alfa Brera (best thing Italian has given to the world since Monica Bellucci ha!!) sports a way better interior than most if not any car from Maranello, how could anyone find that not laughable?
Anyway, I was not talking about getting leather stitched, that would be equally laughable for the guy whom this car is aimed to, but about the overall design of the dashboard, it yells I am kind of bored and outdated, I am neither talking here about placing there silly stuff that would only add weight to the car, but it just lacks style or good taste.
As for the exterior, I always liked the 80's Corvette so this is not an exception.

Come on. Anyway, the new ZR1 Vette has new suspension and 120+ more horsepower than the OLD, 7:42 Z06. There are no posted lap times of the NEW ZR1 Vette at the 'ring(that I'm aware of).

Yeah I have, and my $9,000 Honda has a much higher quality interior. For $70k it should be really nice (not just pretty nice) and not look like a Silverado. 15" brakes, carbon fiber roofs, and 625 hp are all good, but when you're sitting in traffic, you're calling upon maybe 90 hp, and carbon fiber doesn't make a difference. Most people have no use for that much horsepower in anything.

A Honda does NOT have a high quality interior. I drove a V-6 Accord and was laughing at the shoddiness of the inside. And people speak of Honda's as the best in the world? Give me a break. My Magnum that I used to have had a better quality interior than a Honda. I'm not bashing Honda, I just don't like most Hondas. Except for the new Civic, which is pretty nice, but I haven't seen the interior.
As for the Vette... if I could fit inside one, I'd be driving one. Supercar performance for a Honda price.

I'll check with the dealer tomorrow, but I still haven't seen any press releases claiming a 6 spd MT for the SRT-8.
Doubt I'll get a first year though, no matter what he says. I almost never buy a model when it's brand new, I give them a year to work out any issues.

That's always a wise idea. My mom's regretted it with our Xterra Although I would think that there wouldn't be many issues, since the powertrain is used all across the lineup.

The point is, you've picked a specific and biased track as your reference. The 'Ring (been there ...pal? You'd love it) gives advantage to cars with better aerodynamics, and the tight sections, that are used to test the driveline, are not long enough for the Audi to make up the HP difference.
With the certain sections of the 'Ring allowing +170 mph in a proper car (I topped 175 mph on Dottinger Hohe in a derestricted E46 M3 and 150 mph are not unusual between Bergwerk and Klostertal), it's really hard to imagine a proper 5-seat wagon to beat a Vette. So with a Vette on the 'Ring, you brought a gun to a knife fight.
The funny point is, I work for a car magazine and I do over 50k miles per year doing roadtests and tracktests alone. I might not know everything about any car, that's for sure. But I really think, your "Google-says-so-and-I-will-not-think-twice-if-this-makes-sense" car judgement method is far from applicable.
No offense, but I'd say you've only seen the Nuerburgring on a Playstation. Please get just a little bit more real... ;-)

The PT cruiser was the first newer-vintage car that really made me guffaw the first time I ever saw it.
My God - "special" is a painful euphemism.
I still think it's a complete ****-up of what was supposed to be "retro" design, reminiscent of when people built similar designs that actually managed to look good.
But then, you can't argue taste, I know, yadda yadda...

edit: No really, show me something. Facts. Show me an stock-ish RS4 winning a race on dry tarmac with equal drivers/tires vs. a stock-ish Z06 Vette.

I mean the new Corvette is clearly fast, would be silly to deny that, but to label it as fast cars' new leader is too… enthusiast, patriotic?.
pssst pssst: don't take 'patriotic' as being politic stuff, -good or not that good we all know the Corvette is an american icon- it is just like an average german would tell you german cars are the best thing, so does any italian but Giorgio Armani about italian cars, hell, even a french would say french cars rule the world… It becomes hard to a spaniard do the same about spanish cars though, everybody knows SEATs sucks.

Did you see the concept? It looked awesome. Unfortunately, back then Dodge messed up just about every good concept that they had.
