I was setting up an ftp-server on my imac(in sys prefs), and I was wondering if there is any way for me to see if someone is connected to it and maybe contact that person? Just wondering, thanx

Hi!

I can't really help you out in this case, but perhaps you can ask your question in the Networking and Servers forums in MacNN. Everyone in this forum is still excited about the new software and hardware updates. Can you use the Apple Network Utility to do what you want? Just wondering.

Hopefully someone can stop by and give you some help!

FreeBSD has a command called sockstat that lists all currently connected users and the protocol that they connect by. OS X does not have this command built in, however, there may be a port somewhere...
