Hi I am using a Linksys router and all works great when I set my 3 computers to "Using DCHP" in the network prefs.

But If I set them to using DCHP with manual IP address and give them each there own IP none of them can connect.

Why?

I need to have all 3 computers take the same IP each time.

comp 1: 192.168.1.100
comp 2: 192.168.1.101
comp 3: 192.168.1.102

I think you also need to set up your gateway and DNS servers. DHCP auto-assigns the IP addresses as well as provides gateway and DNS information. You need to set the gateway and DNS IPs on all your client machines.

You should only need to set it to "Using DHCP with Manual IP Address" for what you are wanting to do. Then all you have to enter is the IP address and the DNS info. The subnet mask and router will be provided by DHCP.
