when i try to type in some keywords like "adium, keynote, etc...", the spotlicht seems to refuse to search on my harddrive, and always return the dxmn same answer "No results found", but actually they stayed silently in Application folder, and for sure I had check the spotlight preference, all checkboxs are selected, and use the disk utility to fix the permission issues, but it still does not work!!!

so any ideas about that?

Spotlight was making my CPU hit 29% every 3 seconds. I did what was posted out there deleteing the index on the volume and letting it reindex...didn't solve the problem.

So I went to System Preferences | Accounts | Login Items and erased something like SystemServices or CoreServices can't remember and the problem was solved my CPU is near 0% now and only goes up to like 3% when it's idle.

Can someone please tell me exactly the path to the system services or whatever it is so I can reenabled Spotlight. I want to know if 10.4.1 update fixed the problem or not.

You deleted the index. Solid.

sudo mdimport -E /

And next time, don't be stupid.
