Why have such demeaning stereotypes in your poll. "Still babysitting for cash" on 13-15? and "yarrr I can drive" on 16-20?

You know, some 13 to 15 year olds DON'T babysit for cash. Some 13-15 year olds are in ****ing college, making a life for themselves.

Why feed your **** to the lowest common denominator???
The majority of 13 to 15 year olds aren't in college now are they. I don't know how they could be making a life for themselves if they can't even drive. * Jewish girls don't like cussing or immature kids.

50% of the forums appear to be over 30, but most of them aren't talking about it in the thread. Interesting?

So…am I supposed to respect 15-year-olds who work and go to school less than 15-year-olds who just go to school? Because I don't quite see how that is. Babysitting may not be the most glamorous job in the world, but you have to start somewhere.

18

man, macgeek you gotta effin chill! a piece of advice--don't talk down to people you have to look up to to see. although he does have a point, some of the parenthetical quotes are wrong... most places I've been to 18 is legal for porn, and most are drinking well before they hit 21. Legally too--doesn't the US have the highest drinking age? (I know its up there, comparatively...)

Well, macgeek did tone down for, like, two days after the "i dumped my girlfriend" historical thread, but his true colors have turned up yet again.

I'm not old...yet. I'll be 23 in July. Two more years and I get that nice big car insurance drop...

Start biking. Easier on the knees, but you do have to do a bit more work to get the same results.

Swimming is great too. I have bad knees and ankles from playing basketball every day for 9 years, and swimming helps me get a GREAT workout without stressing those joints.

It's amazing what a plain "I don't have an opinion about that" can accomplish.

There are lots of situations, really. Mostly about sports or politics, since everyone is expected to care about those and have an opinion, but, apart from some very basic and rudimentary political general attitudes, I have no opinion whatsoever on either of them. This was great when I was a kid—nobody expected me to. But nowadays, whenever people ask me and I reply with an, “I don’t know, I don’t care about such things”, I’m invariably met with a veritable onslaught of questions on why/how I can possibly not care about that, and don’t I realise that the world can only change if everyone gets involved, and how can I be so nonchalant about my surroundings, etc.

Same with being a vegetarian and not drinking alcohol (sorry, Doofy, I know I’m the elephant in your porcelain store): people will pester me to no end and try to ‘challenge’ my viewpoints about both. They will just not accept it that I don’t have an opinion on either, and that the only reason I abstain from them is because I can’t stand the taste. “Oh, but it’s just an acquired taste, I mean, no one really likes alcohol the first few times, you just have to get used to it”. Horribly annoying.

No no, not Salty. The other one. Canadian, too. Made a thread like “I think I’m bi” or something like that once, where he seemed actually confused about his own sexuality. Talks a lot about his boyfriend recently. Still can’t recall the guy’s name.

*brain meltdown*

34.

And hey, give macgeek what's-his-name a break. A LOT of teenagers have no defense against the flood of ego and hormones that they get at his age. Reminds me of me, except by that time I was actually getting laid.
Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.

20 in September. College is hard as hell with two majors and three minors, I'm still trying to get over the angst of having recently been a teenager, and I'm way too friggin poor to buy a car.

And I'm loving every minute of it!

"30+" ?? WTF?!! 30+???!?!?!!?!

Why not just put "OLD PEOPLE?" Holy cow. Like 30 is somehow equivalent to 50 or 60. It's just generic "Old People."

Crap.

Crap I keep meaning to watch that, but that means I'd have to go out and rent it, and that's like work or something.

Sadly, my main motivation is because Dave and Bill talk about it fondly on an episode of NewsRadio.

"Soylent Green is PEOPLE!!!!!!"

I stopped feeling "old" because of that sort of thing the first time I told a teenager about how it felt to have the Star Destroyer cruise over my head in a HUGE theater the first time I saw Star Wars. Which was about a week after it was released (I didn't stand in line quite that whole time!) and about a day or two after I graduated from high school. It didn't sink in until that kid actually saw that sequence on a really, really BIG screen. Moving from "old fart" to "mentor" has its advantages.
