Is it just me, or does the whole Mac media community feel like it has lost steam?

MacWeek.com has gotten more and more pitiful since the paper and ink version was killed.

Mac The Knife has all but disappeared. MacOSRumors seems strangely quiet and toothless...

Is this the result of a bevy of Apple lawyers doing their jobs, or what?

That and the fact that Steve has fired most of the employees who were leaking info.

That's all well and good for Steve, but it just adds to the general impression that there ain't a whole lot going on in the Mac world...

Of course, it might also reflect quality of the Mac press. ZDnet's offerings for the Mac have really shriveled. So much for their redoubling their efforts after they put a bullet in MacWeek.

But we do get an overload of news once every three months now.

And don't get me started about Mac magazines. MacWorld is just a leaflet now...

I miss the rumors. Always gave me something to look forward to, even if it did disappoint me if the weren't true.

MacOSRumors is still alive and well, it's updated twice a week or so. AppleInsider, however, has not been updated since April 3.
