Saw it yesterday, not bad.
Fits in fairly well with the other films, but a tad drawn out.
Anyone watched it so far?

Not yet. I avoid "midnight showings," especially premiers, because I like to be awake throughout the film... I may get to see it through the week...

We had it released here on the 29th, so I caught a morning show to avoid the crowds

I'm gonna pass on this one, even if Wolverine is my fellow countryman... that's fighting in the American Civil War for some reason.
Did the comic book character fight in the US Civil War?

I thought it was ok, not too bad but not as good as I'd hoped.
Weapon XI was a bitter disappointment and who the HELL thought it would be a good idea to shut Deadpool up like that. Retarded. And…blocking an energy blast with his CLAWS?!?! WT HOLY F?

No big surprise, but the critics are panning it. I suppose if you enjoyed the wolverine/x-men comics as I did, the movie will be enjoyable.

I was unimpressed. It wasn't unwatchable, but while I didn't think the previous three X-men movies were great, they were notably better than this one.

So, did Wolverine fight in the US Civil War in the comics? Just wondering.

No.
Edit: oh, and the movie was decent. I was a little disappointed, but it could have been worse.

That was by far the worst of the three. I was dissappointed in how the movie went. I never read the comics, but I was expecting the story, from what I have heard, of Jean Grey living up to the comic story line. Eh eh.

I'm sure I will see it and I will like it. I never agree with critics or purists, so my movie tastes differ from that of most everybody else.

Yeah, I liked it too... You have to go into movies like this prepared to suspend disbelief and to enjoy yourself rather than to be a critic. If you are looking for flaws you will find them, but who cares? A movie like this is not supposed to be Oscar material.

I thought it was OK, but I thought it lacked the humor and characterization of X-Men. Pretty much everybody was very dour through the whole thing, except for Wolverine's girl, who just smiled a lot because I guess the director couldn't think of a better way to convey that they had a nice life together. Oh, and Emma Frost and Gambit were a waste.

Okay, Spoiler-ific question here:
What were the two "easter egg" endings?
I saw the lame one with Stryker getting caught. Tell me the other one was better.

He shot wolverine in the head with the adamantium bullets -- effectively destroying his memory -- then walked away.

No, no, I'm talking about the little clips that roll after the credits start. There are two different ones but each print only has one. The one I saw was boring. Stryker just gets picked up. I was wondering if the other one was worth talking about.

$87 million first w/e in Canada/US, and $160 million worldwide. I'm shocked.
Production cost was $130 million.

After all the credits have roller - Logan sitting in a bar in Japan drinking from a shot glass and the barmaid asking him what he was thinking about. (less than 30 seconds)

As I understand it, the scene with Stryker at the end is in every version. The different scene is the one after the credits. One version is the one Andy described above. The other, which I saw, was:
Deadpool's body reaching out from under the rubble and grabbing his head, which then opens its eyes. It seems to be unintentionally comical, because several people in the theater laughed and the others just kind of scratched their heads and went "WTF?"

I am really disappointed in this mockery of a mutant movie. It has no redeeming qualities at all.

I thought it was like a chick flick version of an action movie. Whatever that is...

I liked it, I'm not about to cross examine the move with regard to the comics but all in all it was an enjoyable movie.
