Hi Folks..
just posting a link to a new set I banged out recently. The motivation for these icons were simply observations of the forum personalities that breeze through message boards, forums and online communities across the Interweb. And also to try something not remotely Aqua looking

These are available from my icon page http://afterglow.ie/icons.html in or you grab them directly from http://www.afterglow.ie/downloads/forumfaces.sit
It's by no means comprehensive but it's a start. These were made solely using Photoshop vector shapes with some layer masks and effects thrown into the mix

I've made these for Windows XP as well but my beta boy is taking his sweet time so the WIndows set will be ready soon.

If it floats your boat, you can also download avatar version of these from http://www.afterglow.ie/downloads/forumavatars.sit The matte colour might need to be tweaked for certain forum stylesheets.

These are great! I want to be the Pinko Commie, just cause I like how he looks.

And he's got a sickle!

Awesome! I would pay $5 bucks to use the pinko commie icon on my website. That's great! Can you also make stupid looking pictures of Kerry, Edwards, Bush, Carter, Clinton, Gore, etc.? That'd also be worth money to have.

They're really good, but you need one in prison stripes and behind bars for all of the banninated people around here (and their multiple names/personalities).

The link to the avatars has a period at the end of it. Remove the period and all will be good.

Fixed now...Also added some more colours for the Mac Zealots avatars as anything Apple can't just be in one colour

But really, could you make funny pictures of ALL the candidates (maybe even the first set of Socialists from the primaries)? That'd be funny.

a penguin logo would be nice, but a guy in a tux outfit would be sweet.

Actually I am not the most heated Bush supporter in this forum. He isn't my FAV president. Pointing out the pettiness and silliness of anti-bush zealots does not mean you are a "Bush Baby"

But hey, that is a discussion for a different part of the forum. Lets try to leave politics AND personal jabs out of this.

very nice set.

took a few liberties, hope you don't mind.

i'm sure you have plenty of ideas for additional characters, but i thought i'd throw a few more at ya;

-two faced poster/split personality. think two-face or dr.jekyl/mr.hyde
-the lover. always trying to bring peace between opposing sides. flowers in their hair, big smile.
-the playa. always hitting on any members who identify as female.
-hacker/supernerd. always knows the answers to even the most obscure technical questions. think of a guy with big glasses and matrix code reflected in them.

you're right, the possibilities are endless

There should be one called "Zimphire" because he has enough posts to be his own category altogether.

Demonhood....Are you looking in my sketchbooks?

Safe to say some of these suggestions will definitely make it into the next batch.
