After see the docklings lack on 10.1 builds i think that Apple should put them on 10.1 GM - like extras. Docklings like the battery.dock are cool.
UI design lacks:
* The lack of borders on windows will disturbs me - the fact is that OS X would be more intuitive with window borders.
* The windows have shadows, but they seem very flat to the user. The Icon Area on Finder Windows (in all views) could improve its appearance, adding a simple inner glow.

why would docklings return when most of their functionality is now built in to the application's dock icon? docklings were annoying, having to have two icons in the dock to control one app was dumb.

That's only the case in iTunes. Standalone docklings were a good idea, IMHO. Stuff like Space-Dock was a cool little multiple-desktop dockling. The airport signal strength dockling will stay, won't it?

It wont. But you can, of course, save the Docklings from 10.0 and use them in 10.1...I use the battery one, and it works flawlessly.
