Hello!

I have bought myself a new iMac but the screen is sometimes "too bright"! I know it sounds a bit weird, but is there a way to tone it down?

Thank you!

F14 = Turn brightness down
F15 = Turn it up!

Hope that helps!

Hey cool! I wonder why Apple didn't put a marker on them, like the volume keys? That would make much more sense!

You may also want to look into custom calibrating your screen if you haven't already (sometimes a screen that looks a little too bright is actually just washed out and in need of color tweaking).

Assuming your on OSX, open System Preferences, choose Displays, then Color, and finally the Custom Calibration option (I recommend you use expert mode, if available, and to take your time and do it really well).

Custom calibrating makes an incredible difference in screen quality, compared to stock calibration, in my opinion.
