2gig vs 4gig Ram in new MBP?

Just placed my CTO 2.4ghz MBP order w/ 7200rpm. Its arriving with 2gigs of ram (2x1gb) I'm thinking of pulling them out, selling on ebay and upgrading to 4gb(2x2gb) right away.
I'll be editing about 10,000 raw photos in aperture and/or cs3 over the next year. Later on I will be running midi thru my MBP and using a looping program to perform music live.
Should I boost my ram now or later? (will I see a speed increase at all until I start pushing it with garageband?)

Based on the workflow you're describing, I think you'd be happier with an upgrade sooner rather than later.

So far, $239 is the best price I have found. You also get a $50 rebate if you ship them your old RAM, though you probably would make more on eBay.

I just bought a stock model with 2GB with the intent of upgrading to 4GB. I hate to buy RAM that I know I'm just going to take out, but it meant getting the MBP on the day of release, and saving all that money over Apple's ridiculous price for the upgrade.
I was really surprised that I actually filled up my RAM twice so far. I think there was a large memory leak involved in at least one case, but I was using the trial of Aperture to load my iPhoto library, and it completely brought my machine to a crawl. Since I can afford it and the price isn't too bad, I think I'm going to get the 4GB soon. Aside from cheapest, who's the best value of good quality/price to order from? Is Crucial still good? I've bought from them several times and never had a problem. I think they're charging $369.

Prices in RAM are ridiculously low on third party sellers and insanely high on apple's store. Just about a year ago crucial was selling 2gb sticks for about $1700, that's quite a dive that prices took. a 2gb kit cost
