Sharing iCal

I noticed that while networking, if I wish to import iCal from another Mac in Shared folder, that it will replace my own personal iCal entries. I'd like to keep my own calendar while sharing the receptionist's one. I'm not interested in Mobile-Me or Exchange or whatever, just the wireless router.
Is there a way around this or am I doing something wrong?
I'm willing to work with another calendar for personal use but there are too many to try.
Thanks.

OS X doesn't have built-in calendar sharing and publishing.
You need 3rd party software or services for that.

I haven't found a free solution for Apple Calendar.
With the (near death) experience of Xmarks, I have been looking into MobileMe, because I definitely want reliable bookmarks syncing.
MobileMe goes for about $50 on Ebay, I'd be willing to pay that if it means painless syncing.

No, not the client. You'd need the Outlook Server.
(And to be clear: that would not sync with Apple Calendar.)
