I'm a student and thinking about getting a student ADC membership.

I know it entitles me to free OS upgrades and a 1 time ADC discount on hardware.

The question I have is, do I only get a free OS upgrade if I'm a memmber at the time the new OS comes out. For example I want tiger, but I'm trying to wait as long as possible so hopefully my discount will still be good when the g5 powerbooks come out.

Can i purchase my membership after tiger comes out and still get it? I ask b/c I'm a senior so I can't renew it when it rus out.

I got my ADC Student membership in October. It came with a copy of Panther, and i'll get Tiger for free providing my subscription is still current when they release it.

Apple have said Tiger will be out this year, but they haven't said when G5 powerbooks will be out - so you'll have to take a gamble if you want to save your discount for that. You do need to have a valid membership to use your discount.

so i guess you get a copy of whatever the current release is?

excellent, its only $30 more for an ADC membership. I'll wait and then gamble on the g5 powerbook, or maybe i'll just get a powermac G5
