My F3/F4/F6 keys used to lower/increase/mute the sound for the entire system in 9.1, and still does when iTunes isn't open. However, ever since i've updated to 9.21, those keys will ONLY control iTunes when iTunes is open. Mute no longer mutes the system, only iTunes, same for the volume up/down keys.

Does anyone know a workaround for this?
Does this problem apply to the Pro Keyboard as well?[/LIST]

yeah.
this is one of those half-implemented fixes.
i'd have loved, i mean, loved to have the sound hotkeys control BOTH itunes and system volume (effectively equating the two) because i hate having to raise two sound levels (one w/ keys/one w/ mouse) to change volume... if the hotkeys worked as both, you'd be able to change everything much easier when you're running itunes... as is, it's just the oposite of what it used to be, and that doesn't really fix anything...
damn.

who else is just wishing itunes had more preferences (this being one)?
more prefs. that's what this app needs soooo bad.

On my Pismo, when itunes is open, F3, F4 and F6 control itunes. If you hold down shift and option, this will control system volume with itunes open. If itunes is closed, F3, F4 and F6 control system volume.
