well, now I have my PB since last friday, and I am more than happy. I actually cannot think about anything else at the moment.
when I come in my room it has the smell of my PB. it is the smell of plastic, you know, like a brand new car, very specific. sorry, I cannot explain it better.
what is with yours?

if i run my new 12" powerbook too long or hard...it's that delicious smell of burning plastic...

other than that, just the sexy look of the pb with the lid closed, and the pulse of the sleep lite...

Congrax on your new purchase!

I'm not trying to be a wet blanket, but you do realize that the "new car smell" associated with fresh-off-the-assembly line cars, computers etc is actually a mixture of volatile organics and other chemical nasties.

In fact, in some parts of Europe, there are actually moves to regulate the amount of such volatile compounds that new products can 'emit'. And it can be months before people with multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) can comfortably use new electronic products. see Charles Moore's excellent article on this issue.

Meanwhile, enjoy your new PB, but I would advise against inhaling too deeply!
