I'm about to deploy a lab full of computers, and I have a logout hook that removes all home directories created by OS X for users that login to the machine. My question is: whenever a new user logs in, their home directory is created in /Users. I can delete that upon logout, but their username still appears in the Account window of System Preferences. Where is that user list stored? I'd like to be able to delete users in that list automatically, too.

Figured it out. In the Advanced Options of the Active Directory Plug-In configuration pane, you can deselect "Force local home directory on startup disk" and it creates neither a folder in /Users nor an entry in Accounts.
