Joseph Addai!!!

The entire state of Louisiana says, "You're welcome," to the Colts for that little rookie running back.

I actually think the Patriots have the better shot as the road dog.
I was right. God what a great game - I can't believe the Colts actually did it. Yay!!!

Agreed. All the statistical odds were against the Colts. But they did it. Just great. They deserved it. The Pats won enough Superbowls for a century.

Not really. I was in Lincoln Park during the game and now I am home in the Gold Coast.

The bars were a little crazy at the end of the game but everyone has work or school tomorrow.
The people who streamed in from the game were a little hyper but there weren't enough at the bar I was at to make a difference.
Division Street maybe a tad busy but despite the fact its 3 blocks away I can't hear anything note worthy from here.

Are you kidding me ?

The Bears would have NEVER beat the Pats tonight. No way in (what the) heck.
A comeback from 3 : 21 like this ? No way.

The Colts just had a game for the ages against the Patriots. Faaaaaar more impressive win than the Bears who were clearly the better team in the cold, at home against the Saints who didn't know what hit them.

I like the Colts.

What's odd is that no major sports site or media outlet gave the Bears a chance before the game even though we knew the weather was going to favor the Bears from the get-go...now that the Bears dominated, everybody is like "The Bears were supposed to dominate like that today, they were clearly the better team considering the weather conditions" etc. etc...

Whew... I am so tied of the Patriots... glad that someone new (err... someone who hasn't won in at least 20 years) will get a chance. Now next year, maybe it will be the green and silver's turn!!!

My only prediction is that the Super Bowl™ will not be nearly as interesting as that Pats/Colts game.

did anyone notice belichick give peyton the cold shoulder? I saw peyton battling through a crowd to say something to belichick and belichick barely gave him the time of day.

I don't like the guy but I would sure as hell pick him to coach my team.

Surprisingly, for all the matchups it could have been, the Bears match up better than any other NFC team with the Colts. They can run the ball (Colts weakness is run D) and have a strong D with a good pass rush (the way to stop the pass is at the point of origin - the QB.)

However, I also feel that the AFC is a much tougher proving ground and that Peyton and the Colts are a better team.

I have always said that Peyton will never win a Super Bowl. He's about to prove me wrong. It'll be a quarter of "feeling out" followed by a second quarter in which both teams trade field goals.

Coming out in the third quarter, Peyton and his pals will score almost at will. The Bears get a trash TD after the final result is already known.

Colts 27, Bears 10

The Bears are a great NFC team, but they're not even close to as good as the Patriots or Colts. The Colts SHOULD stomp all over the Bears. I'll be very surprised if they don't win by at least 17.

The Bears lost to the Pats by 8 in Foxborough with a "bad Rex" appearance. Assuming Bad Rex doesn't show up, they win that game. I don't see the Colts lighting them up for a 17 defeat.

The problem with good Rex is that's usually means risky Rex as well, and Ron Turner will have none of that right now.

Comparing a regular season game with the Super Bowl and the whole idea of "the Pats only lost to the Colts by three and the Bears lost to the Pats by 8, therefore the Colts will win by 5" is just screwy.

Actually, it was 4 ( just looked it up 17-13). Regardless, following your logic, the Tigers should have swept the Cards out of the World Series this year because the American League was so much better than the National League.

i was at kincaids on armitage and it was pretty crazy there during both the bears and colts game, not much activity on my way back to my apartment in the loop but that was around midnight... being from indianapolis, i know what team is going to win next weekend, but to ensure that I don't get shanked by a bears fan angry because of my colts victory, i will be watching the game in Indianapolis.

Here's whats going to happen:

Peyton Manning will dominate the game. He will come out on fire and never let up. You will hear the announcers say the word "control" when referring to Manning and the Colts multiple times during the game. The Bears defense will start out strong, but quickly become demoralized by the Colts relentless offense.

Meanwhile, Sexy Rexy will fold like a taco. He'll have that wide-eyed lost look he gets when things start going bad. He'll do stupid high school-ish things like he did last game when he tried to call 2 timeouts in a row. (he should have been penalized for that one by the way).

If anyone thinks Peyton will let this game slide, they're thinking wishfully. This is his time. He's earned it and he's ready. Sure the Bears defense is the best in the league, but Peyton will know them in and out and use their weaknesses to the Colts advantage.

Colts will win by at least 17, most likely more.

(And for the record, I'm a Bears fan. But I'm a realist. I think the Colts are a far better team under pressure. And there is no amount of pressure that matches a Super Bowl game.)

What Rex did was stupid, but the refs got it right - it USED to be a penalty in all cases, but now its only a penalty when used to try to ice the kicker.

I don't think we've paid full price for drinks at that bar in the past 4 years.

Anyway, the place cleared out quite a bit in between games and I left when the Colts were down 21-3. So if it picked up it was after I left.

I didn't know that stipulation. That is silly. If thats the case, it could easily be used to throw off the defense in any situation. Imagine a 4th and short situation, you call a timeout and afterwards you get all lined up to begin the play. The QB signals for a timeout and the defense relaxes and then they snap the ball. Bogus.

But whatever, it just goes to show that Rex doesn't have the head for big games. Not yet anyways. He looks so lost out there sometimes, like he's never been on the field before. Its almost painful to watch him when he's like that.
