I've been reading up on apples plans to be greener, and it states that in 2007, they release the first macs with LED backlit technology. I'm kinda making an out of the blue assumption that seeing as though everyone has been moaning about the SR chip and all that, that apple will release the macbook pros with SR, leopard and the LED technology and likewise with iMacs in august time, ready for the new school year. Also, I think macbooks will come out soon later with the same technology, but im pondering on whether it'll be august. Tell me youre thoughts.

Oh yeh, heres the link to the page I was on about:
Apple (UK and Ireland) - A Greener Apple

The MacBook Pros are not tied to the school year at all, as they are not targetted at students.

MacBooks came out in May, were updated in November, and again in May. You do the math.

If LED displays are to come to MBs this year (IF), it will probably be by the November update; it's a 6-month update calendar... more or less, but mostly it's 6 months.

analogika said right.

Yeh but would you call this much of an update? It's only miniscure compared to previous ones. How difficult could it be to tell them to start putting different processors in?

What different processors?

The next upgrade would be a new main logic board built around the Santa Rosa architecture; the processor would probably remain unchanged except for clock speed.

Um, the new MacBooks don't.

Welcome to the forums. Take a minute or two to look around and think before you post.

You'll find we have a MacBook Pro forum, as well.

Well if the macbooks with LED backlighting arn't released before the new school year I think that is absolutely obscure! If they don't it might be one of there ploys for people to buy the current macbook, then release a new one straight after the school year has started, so some people may sell the macbook they have only just bought to buy the new one! Could happen..
