Not sure but I remember something about these two products using the same RAM.

I'd like to buy some RAM for my iMac (FP 15") with the knowledge that I can repurpose it for a Powerbook when the time comes.

If so why do some online RAM dealers sell them at two different prices?

Hello,

I think they do use the same ram, assuming your imac is the G4. It's also the same ram that the ibook uses. Different sites may have different prices because there are a lot of different ram manufacturers our there. Also, I think the DIMM on the iMac is cheaper than the SO-DIMM because the SO-DIMM is the low-profile type.

If you want to get Kingston ram, here's a good Canadian site to go to Compdirect or try directdial .

Also, be sure to visit ehmac, which is a cool Canadian Mac user site.

James
