This might sound strange but, with it's somewhat delicate design, I wonder how "huggable" and user friendly it is to use the Powerbook while lying in bed.
The iBook with it's more rounded corners and ruggedness, is naturally more easy to toss around.
Do those who do use the PB in bed, do you use a cool stand or do you not use any protection at all! (sorry i couldn't resist)

I put mine on my lap and use it for about a half an hour every now and then.

My husband won't let me have the PowerBook in bed

But I do have a Coolpad when I use the PowerBook on the couch.

I often use my PowerBook G3 in bed, but I put it on a table before drifting off to sleep. TiBooks aren't as comfortable, but they're certainly acceptable so long as their fan doesn't come on.

My new TiPB is great for warming up my down comforter. With wireless and a web cam I can lie in my bed and videochat with my friends around the world.
My Mother can watch over me while I sleep

Since attaching a formac 2010 I can't bring myself to 'undock' the powerbook and use it in bed anymore. Just means I'm missing some sleep these days.

Hi dilleet,
I am interested in videochat software and hardware. What are you using for software and which camera (USB? Firewire?). I've have a TiBook 800 (running OS 10.2.2) and a cable connection, so both the PowerBook and the 'net connection should be fast enough.

Thanks, Dave

Even though it's a stupid name for 1394, I think the term "iLink" would work better in this case.
- PowerBook G4 1GHz, 1GB RAM, SuperDrive
- AMD Athlon 1.4 GHz, 512MB DDR, Radeon 8500

I've heard of small ones but that's ridiculous!

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

I use it from time to time in my bed. I just make sure that the airflows aren't obstructed by something soft or so. Actually, I love to write emails to friends while lying in my bed... just so comfortable. I couldn't have done that with my former computer (iMac G3)...

I'd often use my Lombard PBG3 in bed, though usually perched on an old hardback Asterix or Tintin book (the perfect size), to help stop the fan coming on.

When my long-awaited Ti 867 arrives though, I think it will be for the sofa only... my girlfriend isn't fond of the competition

Naw...I think it was a legit question. I wouldn't bring it to bed for fear of falling asleep and then rolling over on top and cracking the LCD screen.
Mind you that would happen with any laptop.

If your penis fits in a FireWire port, you have more pressing issues than your PowerBook use. You might actually have to start replying to those "add 3 inches" spams.

my superbook is in my lap in bed as I type with a 100' ethernet cable working its way to the cable modem in the "computer room".

Gets a bit warm on my legs, but the other option is lay it flat on the sheets but then heat will build up fast.

Let me introduce you to Airport wireless networking...

Seriously, you can get a wireless router pretty cheaply nowdays (not Apple's).

In fact, third-party wireless gateways are much better (in terms of range) than Apple's offerings.
