Ok it isn't so mini but it silver and white and targeting the same market. The neat/interesting thing is that it has a built in dock for the iPod which the Mac Mini sorta had (according to the logic board).

=P one of my friends had a hp computer and it was garbage. my parents have the same hp printer they bought in 1997 and it still prints great pictures. that is the reason for my statement.

OK on a PC they might work, on Mac's they break with every OS update. Also they have the highest cost per page, so they may work but it will cost you a fortune.

Not bad looking, pretty sleek.

Of course, I'm sure the rear is just as ugly as every other PC.

it looks pretty good, i dont know about all those ports and drawers and little doors and whatever the hell else is going on there. the VAIO towers always seem to hide all that stuff pretty well.

the built in ipod dock is pretty nice, but it certainly looks odd.

The Mac mini has an iPod Dock connector port on the motherboard. It didn't make it into the final case design.

My guess is they sound better than the speakers that come with the Mini, G5, powerbooks, eMac and the iMac is a draw.

So HP sells this computer for how cheap? And Apple charges how much for the ipod dock (with NO cable), when this computer has one built in?

I guess this is a good move as people will be less shocked by my white computer. Its just the general colors and not an exact copy so people won't confuse them.

Sorry for the confusion. I was commenting based on this statement. "Prices on the PCs will start as low as $379, after rebates, when purchased directly from HP. Retail models will start at about $499 after rebates, HP said in a statement." I now realize that its from a slightly different article linked on the MacNN home page. Its also from news.com so I didn't notice. Link

yes that does look very nice even though you know it is all plastic trying to look like metal. But those speaker stands are horrid.

That makes me sick just looking at it. Reminds me of those awful Allegro or Viagra commercials.

I like it also, very cool, but it looks REALLY big, and I can't imagine where the drive bay is.

Exactly. I looked at that case and said "What kinda drugs were these people on?"
May not have been the same kind of drugs I was thinking of at the time but...

That has never been my experience (with 10.0 through 10.3.8, but that's still a lot of OS updates).

I still think that Apple should be making a system like the Tezro!

Also, I rather-enjoy the "different" appearance of SGI's systems. Whenever I link somebody to the Fuel (which is basically a tall ATX case painted red) I get a very positive response, from people who say that they'd use that computer.

I think that the HP system doesn't look so-horrible... are those bays on the front... two optical bays and two removable hard disc bays?

I think that the removable sata hdd thing is a good idea... having two of those slots almost seems overkill though.

Well as another SGIs they are hidden where you can read silicon graphics tezro, that is a panel that hides the optical drive and the hard disks.

Sure Tezro is big in every sense, four CPUs, four PCI-X slots... anyway just place a huge display side by side with it and you are done
