I despise being stuck here in the USA. They will not air it (even on BBC or the SciFi channel) until next year I am sure.
But wait... there's always bittorrent (said fiendishly).

Have to agree, this week's installment was a bit of a letdown. I have not, however, even begun to loose the faith.

I liked smith and jones, not sure if I want to see more of martha's family or not, I think not. They were setting her up as the one the family relied on, so her being gone would have different repercussions than when Rose left. Although she may want to chuck them and their whining, I bet she feels obligated to them more than Rose did to Mickey or even Jackie.
Shakespeare was ok. Doctor should have known better than get close to that witch.

I just discovered this show. Prior to that, my only connection to Dr. Who was my dad watching it years and years ago. I'm watching Series 1 via public Television. I like Eccelston as the Doctor, and was a little sad to find that he left. I've been waiting all week for the next episode because it's The one with the Dalek.

Just watched the Lazarus Experiment episode (again). Dr Who is rocking at the moment Daleks for the 2 previous weeks, Lazarus this week, and Captain Jack next episode (in 2 weeks because of Eurovision Song Contest). Looks like the thread through the series isn't Queen Victoria (or at least not the main part??)... series thread spoiler ahead
Harold Saxon, previous sightings are in 'Love and Monsters' where the Absorbaloff (sp?) (Peter Kaye) with the newspaper had a headline about an election lead for Saxon, 'Runaway Bride' has the tank commander firing on the Racnoss ship on orders from 'Mr. Saxon', in 'Smith and Jones' in a news report, and in 'Vote Saxon' posters in the alleyway. There are plenty more still if you dig deep enough.

We probably won't see Captain jack next week. The preview they showed at the end of the Lazarus Experiment was for the entire rest of the series, not just the next episode (called 42). 42 is apparently about a spaceship crashing into a sun, and the name seems to be a pun on the series 24.
Oh, not to be nit-picky, but Saxon was mentioned by the tank commander in the Christmas Invasion I think, not Runaway Bride. And about Mister Saxon:
Mister Saxon = Master No Six
Which should be pretty cool!
Oh, but what is this about Queen Victoria you mention? I don't think she is going to be in any new episodes.

Sorry, I meant Queen Elizabeth I , not Victoria. She was at the end of the Shakespeare Code episode, she wanted his head and described him as an arch nemesis.

Huh, what?
Am I the only one here who pines for the days of 5-7 episode long serials with a cliffhanger in every one? My only complaints anymore are 1) 13 episodes is only half a season, daggum it! and 2) need something longer than just a two-parter every once in a while!
I did actually stop d/ling the newest episodes though, once I saw it's hitting Sci-Fi on July 6. Less eating of my HD space.

I figured they were in some sort of cat state before the Doctor explained it. Hah!

blink had me jumping out of my seat. For an ep where the doctor was mostly absent, I really liked the characters and the writing. Creepy effing angels!
can't wait for utopia, I may just watch it tonight and forget saving up the 3 parter to watch at once.

Utopia was great, but I'm not sure I'd put it above Blink or Human Nature/Family of Blood just yet. Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords should prove very interesting!
Derek Jacobi was simply brilliant in Utopia!
Jacobi's thoroughly enjoyable and sympathetic throughout the episode as the Professor, but, boy, when he opens the fob watch and the becomes the Master again . . . scary.
John Simm's Master was a bit wonky in his two minutes on screen, but I'll reserve judgment until next week.

Reply to Oversoul's spoiler box:
Yes John Simm was a bit OTT as the Master, but that was explained in the 'confidential' show afterwards as being hyperactive because its a side effect of being fresh from regeneration and getting used to the new body (Tennant's Doctor was similar after his regeneration with the "ooh, new teeth!" and "am I ginger?' conversation with Rose.

They keep having all the stuff about Rose, I wonder if they'll have a special sooner than later. I know they left the show purposefully open for Billy's character so that she can come back to the show if she wanted too.

There was a Spin-off that was supposed to happen with Rose, it never materialized.

they've talked more about rose after she's gone than ANY companion has ever been talked about after they left... while I can see other companions being curious, I hope they're not setting a precedent... And I do hope Martha gets over her crush. Every companion can't crush on the doctor, and vice versa.

I think they talk so much about Rose because she saved the doctor and looked into the heart of the tardis and absorbed the time vortex...pretty big deal.
anyways i hope the last episode this series doesnt suck - i hope the writing is better then the doctor using his sonic screwdriver to get out of it

The finale was a bit weak. After a brilliant start with Utopia, I was sorely disappointed to see the conclusion end with
a deus ex machina and giant reset button. That the toclafane were the humans from the future was a bit predictable too: "Doctor, if I told you the truth, your hearts would break," and "We have to escape ... the darkness ... the never ending darkness ...."
The Face of Boe revelation was shocking, and I have mixed feelings about it. Capt. Jack is such a likable and entertaining character, and the fact that he can't die but hopes that one day that can be fixed dangles a bit of hope for me. Now that I know how it all turns out, that he eventually transforms (ages?) into the Face of Boe and dies in the year 5 Billion ... I don't know. Mixed feelings.
And, I hope Martha does return next season. She was a bright companion.
