thx Duke - I wanted to get that titlebar into the menubar and that was the only place it actually cooperated... I couldn't figure out the "Shinobi" effect in the top left.

It had a built in safety measure - only a four month life span.
Dark themes are very hard so I tabled it. working on CelShaded a bit. Interested?

Wow, you all are keeping the GUI customization alive!
I'd post a current screenshot (I've posted them before here), but I just got finished doing a erase/clean install of OSX.
For those GUI junkies out there: Having to do a clean install because part of the Core services and other vital-system files were screwed up and there was no other way to fix things really SUCKS. Because I was not 100% sure what file/program/service was damaged (corrupt, wrong, bad, whatever), I could not simply copy over all my prefs (or use migration assistant). I literally am sitting here with the bland OSX 10.4.9 with little to no GUI mods.
You have NO idea how sad I am.

But since I have to start over with everything (omg, redownloading/installing candybar, shapeshifter, APE, windowshade x and so on), I came here looking for some new ideas for my fresh install

I had a point/question: Essential apps for GUI related things that you'd redownload/install if you had to start from scratch?

let's see:
shapeshifter
candybar
uno 1.5 (you never know when you'll have to use aqua, and this is way mich nicer than apple's default)
themepark (should you get the desire to create your own theme)

What do you guys and gals think about Windows?
Just kidding,,,, what kind of performance are you getting with your theme enabled and what kind of Rig are you running.
I have a stock MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo...
I had the Clear Vista Type theme enabled and my fans would kick on all of the time and things were a bit slow.
I thought I had a kick but Rig, any thoughts?

I think you may be looking for CoverSutra or some Yahoo! Widget Engine widget. Search for "itunes" at widgets.yahoo.com because I don't have the exact name.

The clock I don't know about.

I run two rigs - 1.8 SP with 1.2 GB RAM and a 1.8 DP with 2.5 GB RAM - those are quickly becoming "old machines" - I would be lying if I said there wasn't a hit in performance... from time to time, as in when my logic board melted down on the 1.8 SP I got to see the system run without any bells and whistles attached. I was/is still a smokin' machine, but I hate Aqua soooo I take the hit and run as many APE mods as I can find...

I got my Mac back to 'normal' after clean install...only took a few headache-filled days

Anyway, dediced to break in the fresh install and spent some time making some new icons to match a collection of desktops I have.

(I also downloaded Thumbscrew, for no real reason other than...I can )

Oh, and I got Photoshops CS3 - and it took me (way) too long to figure out how to make a animation, but I finally did and just did just for fun.

Thanks! It is a mod of a few themes and it was graciously shared with me by the modder, not to be shared with anyone else, so I cannot give it out. The icons are part of the Area04 Windows visual style by HeyLove. Download the visual style .zip containing the icons, and then load the icons into Pixadex, and then drag them into Candybar where you want to use them. It's easy peasy.

Are you referring to having just the contact names on the desktop with no background or anything? Just set the contact list style's background to the same colour as your desktop. If you have the group names showing as well, just change that background colour as well.
