I'm not sure if Google changed their API or what happened, but the Google Maps widget (version 2.2) has stopped working for me. As another curious side note, the widget has disappeared from the internet, seemingly entirely. Anyone have any info on this?

Bummer. Kind of a curious farewell, though. I hope something else can take it's place. It was nearly indispensable for me.

Yeah, I know about that one, but I like looking things up in the Yellow Pages widget and then having the Google Maps widget right there so I can check things out. Also, as an OmniWeb user, maps.google.com won't work as it should until the 5.5 release. I'm sure I'll manage, but it was such a great widget.

ditto what TimmyDee51 said.
I used the maps widget + address book all the time, it was a great widget.

That is a bummer. This is one area where I found it to be much more convenient to fire up Dashbaord and go right for the maps widget then to do it in Safari. I suspect something will move to fill the vacuum before too long.
In the meantime, using the Shiira mini-browser widget sitting on the Google Maps page might be an adequate substitute, though it won't have the capability of minimizing while not in use, then expanding to show the results of the search.
