I just today received a "refurbished" 2009 mode Airport Extreme Base model #A1354l from Apple Store. However, it looks like it is brand new as it came in the original box, wrapping, etc. Does anyone know if this is the most current model? I was told that Apple just came out this week with an updated version. If this is true, then what is the difference from the one I just purchased? Also, have there been any problems noted with this base station? Thanks for your help.

Can't tell what you have from that model number. Are you willing to post the serial number or send me a private message with the number?

AirPort Extreme 802.11n (4th Gen).

It's not the current model, but the previous model. The only changes in the new model is an increase in signal power, which should translate into a bigger range, but with wireless, your mileage may vary.

There is nothing wrong with that "old" airport, and it's covered under a one year warranty just like a new one.
