Oh well. I'm looking for a decent carrying case for my 2001 IceBook. I've looked at the Jam iBook Binder ( http://www.jambags.com/ibbinder.html ), and it was nice looking, for a decent price. Is there anything you guys could recommend that would work better than that? I'm really hoping for a price under $60.

Planning ahead? Good idea, the ibook may be rugged, but the top gets scratches if you aren't careful.

All of the following cost less than $60.
http://www.macyummies.com/imibcarcas.html
http://www.madsonline.com/

click on the cases tab.

You can get one made for the Dual USB for 58 bucks, or you could check http://www.thepouch.com/ for an ibook one (they have one, but I had trouble navagating to find it).

Whoops, looks like you the ibookbinder is on there. Perhaps you haven't looked at the others yet.

Might want to try this one too: http://www.macyummies.com/caslognle2ne.html

It's got better protection than the ibookbinder, but it doens't let people see the logo either... choices choices .

I'm seriously leaning toward the iBook Binder, because I like the design. (Not the one with the cheezy window in it, though.) It's going to be well-protected anyways. My main concern is keeping it shut while it's in my backpack, and having all my software CDs in one spot. And it's only $45, sfbags.com charges an arm and a leg. I'm a poor-ass mama's boy.

Thanks for the advice.

I got this at Macworld NY last summer and it's kept my iBook in great condition. And I carry it around in a cheap $20 Gap bag so it's been a nice low-cost carrying case...

I've got an Eagle Creek computer safe--$25-26 list, $20 on sale. Can be used as a sleeve or a carrying bag. Very basic, but sturdy and well made. Fits the iBook really well. Shoulder strap not included, but the rings for a shoulder strap are built in. If you don't need sexy, for the money I think it's hard to beat.

Hello, I don't have an iBook, but I am partial to timbuk2 bags. They make great messenger bags and they have a laptop case model. Even though it's not under $60, they are extremely durable and they're made in San Francisco, hand made too if I remember correctly.
