Yeah, the icons aren't very nice, and the typing speed sucks (both in the URL area, and in text areas like this one), but the browser loading and display speed is excellent -- worlds faster than OmniWeb, IE, etc.
It is still very much a beta release, but overall, very encouraging.

Have you rebooted since installing opera? The typing speed for me was wretched, but for some reason after rebooting the machine it is very fast. Opera is showing promise, but it crashes way too often for regular use.

I agree, while very fast it is very buggy and crashed way to much to use on a regular basis

I tried Opera and I think it's not possible to use it now. The fonts aren't displayed correctly. Sometimes too small, sometimes too big. And still problems with plug-ins. But I have to say that's truly the fastest browser on earth...
It's so sad to say that Explorer is the best browser
