It is possible for a Macbook refresh, but is unlikely. I do not doubt that there will be one soon, because they need to adopt Santa Rosa, LED-backlight, as well as the X3100. I wouldn't count on it being tomorrow, or even this month.

As for the Leopard upgrade, of course not. Unlike the Vista upgrade, Apple has no obligations to other OEM manufacturers to provide an incentive to avoid holiday season slumps (which would have happened b/c of Vista delays). For Apple, this is perfect, as it also provides for an addition $129 per iMac buyer in the near future.

Sorry to burst your bubbles.

The MacBook won't get LED or Santa Rosa (which would include X3100) until November at the earliest. Come on, you don't know Apple's product cycles yet?

I don't quite understand how they'd do that tbh, they would really need to have some technological advances to happen to make a 'lightweight' Macbook Pro, but I've got nowt against you waiting.
