Alexa offered to stop saying okay and just make a bleep instead. I opted for the bleep immediately and don't regret it.

Having left it on, I kinda feel it’s her trademark word.

Heh. We were traveling last weekend and were using GPS occasionally. Every time we went in a direction other than what GPS wanted us to go, the tone of the voice saying “Recalculating” sounded highly exasperated at us. re-CAL-culating...Like we were creating extra work for it. Like your teenage daughter after you told her to clean her room. I almost expected it to loudly sigh at us.

I know what it is, I’m questioning the application.

Since it’s only the second gen Dots which do this, not the third, I have a sneaking suspicion this is a crass attempt to get me to upgrade.

The hack I use to pair Alexa with my home automation software just broke. Looks like permanently.

When Alexa wishes me “good night”, it makes me feel like if I talk to her again before morning I’m waking her up.

Alexa keeps trying to give me more or additional information beyond what I asked for. I've caught myself almost telling her to "shut the **** up" in front of my kids. Is there a setting I can disable so that she stops trying to be needlessly helpful?

To replace alexa, for most people's usage, you would need: a newspaper, the yellow pages, an FM radio, and an outdoor thermometer.

I’d like one for the self-checkout at Mariano’s, who I have told to shut the **** up.

Numerous times.
