Ok, I just want to address the issue of what is "normal".

You know what is "normal"? A guy of ANY age from puberty on (anywhere from 11 to 100+) desiring a woman in her peak child bearing years (for conjecture, let's peg that at 18 to 25).

Millions of years of evolution (or Intelligent Design, if you believe in that sort of thing) has programmed this into "normal" men.

I'm 32. I find 20-something females more attactive than 30/40/+ somethings.
When I'm 40, I will find 20-something females more attactive than 30/40/+ somethings.

Newsflash: that is "NORMAL".

Maybe superficially. I would much rather look at a 20-something doing porn but in the real world I find women my age (30's) much more attractive.
Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.

But what if you found mental, emotional, visual, physical and spiritual attraction with a 60 y/o?

Yeah. Age is really irrelevant when it comes down to it.

Kestral, you sound superficial. I guess you like to objectify women?

Sorry, but Cate Blanchett is the hottest 30-something in the universe and I take her over any 20-something.

And this shot is from Art Bell's Web Cam. He hasn't begun broadcasting from the Philippines yet, but it looks like he has established a presence there.

Art Bell Update: 6/4/06

For all of you who love Art Bell and want nothing but the best for him and for him to be happy, this is a welcome update!

Now that he's got his AIRYN, here's hoping he soon returns to the AIR!

(I know it's corny. But I don't care. )

GOOD FOR YOU, ART!

Good for you.

abe

Hi all!

Hello from Manila, Philippines! I would like to give you all an update. I arrived here with a big case of the Flu which is just now starting to fade. Three trips from one side of the world to the other will do that.

We are very happy and living in a very nice condo here in Manila. The condo was empty and we slept on the floor for the first three days. We are now all but done with the furniture and so forth, wow what a job.

During this period I have also been trying to deal with Customs here with regard to the gear the company sent. Being a large and (honest) company they declared the stuff Broadcast gear, bad mistake because it triggers a lot of official paperwork with the Gov't. The gear of course is really just audio and telephone.

The second thing they did was include original new price invoices for everything, Customs really loved that! So, with enough Peso's that problem is just about in hand. The next issue is the I.S.D.N. line which is to be installed by P.L.D.T -- the telephone co. here. I will know shortly when that will happen.

Nothing here happens as fast as I would like, however this Broadcaster is very much ready to get back on the air A.S.A.P.

For those of you who may think I made a mistake in this move, you are wrong; it is a wonderful change that I will never be sorry for. The people here are friendly in a way that you would have to travel back in time in the U.S. to match, perhaps to the 1950s or so. The cost of living is about 25% of what it is in the U.S. Everybody speaks English as a second language and EVERYTHING is written in English.

As for TV and radio, well I have CNN, HBO, Cinemax, and many other U.S. TV outlets here on our local cable which also provides a high speed Internet connection. I have three computers on an 802.11G wireless connection.

See a picture taken from my office window:

Airyn is well indeed and we are very happy. We took a short plane ride to her home in Cagayan De Oro City last week. We also went to visit Corrigedor where Gen. Mc Arthur made his famous "I shall return" statement. I saw all the barracks and big guns still on the Island. Of course it was also the location of the Death March. Trust me, you could feel all the Ghosts.

It is now the rainy season here, it started a bit early. There are only two seasons here....Summer and the Rainy season this close to the Equator.

After Ramona passed I was in a tailspin which would have resulted in my own demise had this Angel not come along. I was not eating and despite my on-air sound, believe me I was in a very deep depression. So, in retrospect, I have done the right thing. I am about to quit smoking, this may cause my demise, or it may add a few years, I will hope for the latter! Wish me luck, I will need it. As it is, I only now smoke in the comfort room with a fan on. (That is what they call a bathroom here).

I am a resident of the Philippines now having joined the PRA, check Google for details. That means I can come and go as I like without all that Visa stuff. It also has many other benefits. This should be the number one spot for American Retirement but Americans read the State Dept. warnings about the southern Islands and conclude it is for the whole country, that is totally wrong.

Sorry for the long ramble but I have still not told all there is to tell about this wonderful place. Please feel free to email me at [email protected].

As for getting back on air I am very much wanting it to happen fast but I think it will still be a bit. I have most of my Ham gear here but have not yet tried to get an antenna up-- I am only one floor from the roof so I have high hopes that I will be able to get a antenna up there. (200ft) I am on Echolink (using VR2HF) for you Hams.

That is about it for the moment but now that I have my password again I will continue to update you on progress. I would be happy to answer any questions any of you may have. Please feel free to cross post this at other locations. I am indeed keeping the house in Pahrump, however my RV and all cars are for sale, please contact Paul at: [email protected] for more info. The vehicles are all cherry. More soon.

Thank you all,
Art Bell

Okay everyone, this creepy, NASA hating, US hating freak show is none other than one of the great sociopaths of all time. It's no surprise he is rushing into marrying some kid from the Philippines. He is a joke and his UFO freaks and his new age psycho 'guest' and his mantra for being a Nazi are legion.

How do I know this?

I was invited on his show. He dumped me in 19 minutes because I told him and his freak guest, Richard Hoagland, they were full of s*hit and he was a pathological liar about claiming NASA was lying about UFOs stalking the shuttle and Aliens are doing anal probes on everybody.

He sued me for $60,000,000. I won. I won in three superior courts and got him off air for 2 years. He has never recovered and then after Romona (a certified practicing witch) checked out, he claimed he was leaving the country. A true prick.

That was Ca$h. And he's come back as this Robert A.M. Stephens guy. I believe that there is a real Robert A.M. Stephens who had the experience related in the pages of the web site that Ca$h posted above and that Ca$h is posing as Robert A.M. Stephens.

How would we ever know differently?

Um...no.

Rob Podell is currently using a different handle.

And that post is decidedly NOT his style.

Nor is this one, if you'd click the link.

I live in DC too. In fact, I live just down the street from NASA headquarters on 4th and E Streets SW--I have walked by there twice a day on my commute to work for almost four years now. Their ground-floor office space on the 4th street side was recently turned into a conference room and they have this cool-ass model of the shuttle sitting on display in there which I SO want to steal.

Umm, but what does living in the DC area have to do with anything? And what does having "sources at NASA HQ" who can verify "whehter some ID theft has taken place" have to do with anything? Are you trying to suggest Rob (ca$h) committed ID theft and is impersonating Robert (A.M. Stephens)?

Anyway, I like some of this guys artwork. Some of it is WAY too stylized and hyper-realistic--There is one guy in the collections at the National Gallery of Art who does some interesting hyper-realistic artwork but it is artistic representation of reflections and mirroring, effects normally found in photographs, that I find appealing--like the lost shuttle crew paintings but he does have a nice flair for representing/imagining space phenomena and his boat/sailing scenes are done nicely.

It is me. All references. I'm new here, and haven't posted hre in years as I generally post over on Ted Knights, Mac Rumors. But, have been out of the country. The Art Bell thread here surprised me to see that data here and had to respond.

The vitriol of my post about Bell above, I think if you put yourself in my place, is understandable, being absolutely objective. At least the law agreed, NASA, and the courts.

Whomever you are referencing as using my name and such, I'm not aware of. But that is very common with any notoriety. I've seen my name everywhere, good and bad. That is typical of this medium, for which I've been on since the beginning, before it was http, back in the days of NASA-Cern, when it was strictly ftp and no graphics, exchanging data at 7600 baud (et al, pre 1991).

So, on this new way of communicating, anything goes, no names, everyone anonymous, and attack, attack attack...........Odd this. I ask Bell to stand down three times by email and publicly. He refused along with his webmaster and his sponsor also, Jacor (2nd largest communications company in the US). I told him I would defend myself and that I would disrupt his world if he continued on radio to defame me. He still would not comply.

I did. I went after all of them. Sometimes, things work out for the good.

Also, thank you all for having me here. This is great and fun to see how things have changed.

Robert

Thank you.

Much of what is here:

http://www.behold-the-rage.com/the_images.html

..is oil on panel in international collections as well as NASA, but much is also movie FX stills from the movies whereby I've done FX on under contract for various FX houses. For instance, this is a still frame from the movie Alien, done in Apple's Renderman and other high end software like Partical Motion Dynamics, and this was my first movie gig for Ridley Scott, director.

http://www.behold-the-rage.com/images/alien_troxxes.jpg

For instance, the fake moon hit as referenced above on Richard Hoagland's computer screen, was a movie still for a proposed movie by M. Night Shyamalan (Signs, The Village) that never got green lighted. I then used it to foil the UFO freakos and Bell.

I do all FX on two G4 power macs (1.25 GB dual) and one 38" flatscreen TV-PAL-vectored monitor. The Macs are kerneled as one.

Well, I suppose you are who you say. However, despite your hatred or dislike or lack of respect or suspicion of his mental stability or morality I must say I've been a fan of Art Bell and his show for many many years and while I regret your negative experience with him on his show, in my heart and mind, both the show and Art remain undiminished by your criticism.

However, I am quite willing and able to embrace your position as a man of talent and principle who has gone through a tremendous ordeal and have (hopefully) emerged from the ordeal a smarter and stronger man if you will keep in mind that there are people here who LIKE science fiction, even science fiction posing as science fact. Coast to Coast AM provides a venue for the people of every area of science and even quasi-science to air their ideas.

And people who believe these ideas listen because they want to explore these ideas in greater detail and tune out that which doesn't interest them.

If you criticize the show's venue for entertaining fuzzy brained ideas you should prepare for another tussle when you go after the fans of Star Trek, Star Wars, Galactika and etc.

Bottom line, if you'll live and let live I will look forward to your posts. If you feel the need to rag on Art or the show I'll respond to your posts as I would someone who rags on President Bush.

Welcome.

Oh, and by the way, I heard somewhere that you were a SEAL. Is that not true???

Oh, and by the way, I heard somewhere that you were a SEAL. Is that not true???

Your response is sound, kind and profound in many places. Thank you.

The whole fiasco of Bell was just another adventure. My issue was the assault on NASA. It was dealt with and that is history.

However, you may need to check out the image section at Behold and see the FX work I've done on Star Trek TNG and other like venues (I personally feel at times that ST:TNG was a public affairs statement of things that are coming on our horizon, for real! Incredible television in every way!!). Was honored to work on some episodes (I wanted to do Best of Both Worlds--The Borg), but missed out.

Public life is wild at times. The balance is that I was an unemployed, broke cowboy, out of Montana, when I went back to school and became a failure engineer for McDonnell Douglas Astronautics, NASA, the Shuttle Program. Life changed after that for me. Things happen like that, every once upon a time...............

But my youth in the rural west, gave me the wherewithal to deal the wild adventures that were to come, pragmatically.

Like this, and why I took a little issue with Bell, among other things:

http://www.behold-the-rage.com/resnik.html

I was under the Ryan act, as a last surviving Stephens, and therefore, never served in the armed service of the United States. Art Bell began that slander on his show and that too had to be dealt with, with the Navy SEALS, DoD, Navy. They cleared the slander in honorable fashion on my behalf, against Art Bell. Bell also tried to have my deceased wife exumed to be examined if I had murdered her. She died of injury induced epilepsy, at age 29. We were married for 7 years, happily. I miss her. She could not bare birth, no children. I have not remarried.

Behold such things and the freedom of thought.

Enjoy Coast to Coast.

Thank you again for the kind words and your welcome of me, here.

Well, if Ca$h was looking for a way to win friends and influence people he could do worse than emulating your example.

More kind words and thank you. That is a very gracious thing to say.

I'm not certain, however, what is a "Ca$h" lifeform, but apparently it is not good here. Is it like a Ferenghi?

Another little item about Art Bell. He is now living in the Philippines because the FBI and justice department, and many other accounts towards him, were coming down on him due to his invovlement in the Heavens Gate Cult mass suicide, where by 39 people killed themselves over his claims on his radio show concerning a comet.

http://www.findarticles.com/p/articl...21/ai_19727572

Fact. Not knocking the dynamic radio host at all. Just fact.

Ca$h is a very contentious poster who is repeatedly banned here and repeatedly returns under a new nic. He fashions himself an expert or at least very knowledgeable on at least one subject, cars (and maybe others, too). He really seems to bother some of the posters here. He won't or can't forgive or forget a past slight. He bears grudges, almost helplessly so and he allows his emotions to control him, IMHO.

I don't pay him much attention but sometimes feel sorry for him.

There are others who'd have differing opinions, though.

Ah, gotcha. Understand now. Thanks for the clarification. Seems every BBS has one or two of these if not more. One of the banes of this new medium whereby the biggest cowards, are the worst offenders, all anonymous, having never the courage or gall to do this vitrolic stuff in the flesh and bone world. Learning a little bit on this sort of stuff, if it involves myself, professionally or personally, I go after them legally.

I have a feeling Rob/Ca$h is probably not that different if you talk to him in person. He goes a little bit overboard on occasion, but he's not worse than some people who are still here. He mostly seems a little immature to me. And most of his bans these days are just for ban evasion.

welcome robert, and thanks for sharing your story. i wouldn't categorize ca$h as a coward or really anonymous, but over time i'm sure you will form your own opinion. there's an interesting range of personalities here, mostly fun.

I'm just some dude... although we do share the same first name. I was banned here a few years ago for a BS reason, something that other people would say without incident. But since I have opinions, and I'm not afraid to share them, I have a history here of being somewhat blunt. Because of this, I was banned. I think it's crap, and it was not a temporary ban, or something I could reason with, so I choose to fight the decision the only way I can: By continuing to post here, just like I normally would.

HOWEVER, since I get banned constantly anyway, I don't really have to follow the rules, which does give me a bit more freedom htan the average poster in what I can say. >shrug<

As for real life, I'm pretty relaxed... and I do confront people in real life about their stupid opinions or actions quite often. It's just that there seems to be an unusual amount of stupidity in these forums sometimes, so I have a lot to rant about.

I'd like to know what gives Rob the impression that he has some sort of right to post here against the wishes of the mods... is MacNN some sort of free and public service?

First of all "human trafficking" means that you're moving someone without their total awareness from one place to another for nefarious activities. In this case she's not moving anywhere!! Art's moving there to be with her.
You folks are way too judgemental. Who in hell made his personel affairs any of your business anyway??? I personally wish him the best of luck in his marraige.
I figure most of you have never been to the philippines because if you had you would that there is a lot more there to offer an expatriot american than young girls. I, myself, plan to retire there within the next year or 2. The reasons behind that are many- including a large expatriot population already there, a country that is mostly western oriented (actually not much different than some areas of the US), and the philippine people are just plain woderful. Not to mention that ya get a lotta bang for the US buck there. Where here in the US retirement incomes of $2500/month will put you in the "barely get by- eatin dogfood for dinner" class- in the PI thats upper middle class income. The PI government wants the US retiree and is offering all kinds of incentives to get that retiree. Can you say the same for the US government??
Yes many men bring their filapina fiances here to the states. As a matter of fact a very nice filapina that I know is getting married in Las Vegas next week and has asked me to stand up for her since she has no family here. And I will because I know her well and she will make this guy a wonderful wife. As long as the feminazis don't get a hold of her that is. Only about 30% of these marriages make it past 5 years though. That's why I'm glad Art moved to Manila. I'm just glad that he can continue his show from there.
Finally just because someone doesn't live what you consider to be a normal lifestyle doesn't make them wrong- just different!!!

Art, we are in your corner and appreciate all you've given us as well as the world and we wish you nothing but happiness as YOU define it. And all the best to Airyn!
Give petty people just a little bit of power and watch how they misuse it! You can't silence the self doubt, can you?
