Hi All,
I apologize if my post seemed spammy. I just wanted to share the promotions and contests regarding winning free products (Apps and Premium Car Kits) with everyone. I did not know MacNN's policies are so strict compared to other forums. From now on, I will only answer technical support questions.
Thank you for your time.
Warm Regards,
Maggie

Hey Maggie, I have a question. Will we ever see some sort of Magellan app or setup for devices like the Motorola DROID? Or is that sort of thing going to be iPhone-only?

Hi imitchellg5,
As of right now, we are only in the iPhone market in mobile products. However in the future, we may expand our brand to other devices like the Motorola Droid.
Thank you,
Maggie

Do your maps for the St. Louis area reflect the new highway 40/64 changes?

Maggie,
I work in Albuquerque NM. One thing I am very disappointed with is that new sub divisions (for example north Rio Rancho) are very slow to be mapped. Depending on the maps page I use (google, yahoo, mapquest) sometimes they show you driving off into the mesa.
My question is what is the time frame for new streets, new subdivisions, to get mapped? My understanding from my last foray into this area was that most GPS companies relied on TeleNav to do the mapping, then roll out the data to them. Thoughts?

Backups are like guns and condoms. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Not sure who is at fault for that kind of thing. I was staying at a house a few weeks ago and half of the roads didn't even show up on Google Maps or Yahoo, and it's been there for at least 3 years. And it was within city limits too.

The construction has been going on for the previous two years and was completed around December 09... I think. Somewhere around there.
The new road layout has been known for years...

I think video clarification was warranted. The process is WAY simpler than hinted at in your earlier post (no offense!).

Hi! I’m Mage, Magellan’s new customer service representative. I am pleased to announce that we will be releasing an iOS4 compatible update for the Roadmate App soon! It has been submitted to Apple. We realize that the last months have been a frustrating time for our users and we have worked to make each comment count. We are very proud of this update and are sure you will love it. We hope to create an open and straightforward relationship with our customers and would love to hear your feedback on this update.

Something still seems fishy about this thread.
Why is the image in the original posting not showing? Trying to load the image in a separate window in Safari returns a not found error. If this is a legit thread by a legit company, they would fix that problem.
Oh well, their software is over-priced anyway for a iOS app. I'll stick with my standalone GPS thank you very much.

haha. hopefully maggie doesn't turn up anywhere and i will definitely keep my eyes open!
Thanks for letting me know about the dead link. I'm working on getting it fixed.
Our Roadmate App is very fairly priced compared to our competitors. Plus, our traffic comes included at no additional cost so it's actually cheaper if you want traffic!
Everyone prefers different things, if a standalone unit works for you than great, some people enjoy the flexibility of having a fully functional GPS on their phone.

Thank you for taking the time to download Magellan Roadmate v1.3. For new users, welcome to Magellan, we hope you enjoy our product. For those updating, we are aware of the issue regarding the loss of Onetouch and the subsequent loss of personal preferences and data. We are working to resolve the issue and to get a fix out as soon as possible. If you have not yet updated, you may want to refrain from updating until the next release in order to keep your saved preferences.
Please post or PM me if you have any questions or feedback.
Mage

We are not currently working on a Windows Phone 7 app.
If we decide to take on that arena, I will contact you to let you know.
Cheers,
Mage
