Mac 7300/200 OS 8.5
96 MB RAM
PCI Asante Card for networking

A Type 1 Error occurs when copying data between two servers on this machine. The two servers had Norton Utilities and Anti-Virus run. No problems were found. Others on the network could transfer files on their machines without any problem. The 7300 has been checked with Disk First Aid, Norton Utilites 5, Norton Anti-Virus 6.02. The desktop has been rebuilt, AppleShar prep preference deleted and servers remounted. The network software had been reinstalled and a clean reinstall has been done as well. Control Panels and Extensions were copied into the old folder to over write older files then moved back to the new folder along with all third party control panels and extension.

When trying to research on Type 1 errors the Apple site is quite vague.

It appears that a couple things should be tried:

1. Re-install the Asante Software for the network card

2. Have Extension Manager set to Base or All .

or

3. Clean install again and build slowy .

Any ideas, tip or tricks would be appreciated. Also any specific information on Type one errors would be appreciated. Thanks!
