Hi all. Selling my Gibson!I know its not a mac but i would consider trading it for one!
let me know what you have!

Here are the details!

1959 Gibson ES-125
Serial Number:S8519 10

Really nice shape for a guitar this old. Has a single original P90 pick-up. Awesome tone!!! Comes with a brand new case that is made for arch top guitars like this.
Everything is original EXCEPT , the guy who owned it before me (a guitar maker) took out the original pick-up and put in an active pick-up. He also installed a small switch to change the tone of that pick-up. When he sold the guitar he replace the active pick-up with the original. He re-installed the original wiring also. The only thing he didn?t do was take out the switch. I was going to do this but ive never had time as it involves filling the hole where the switch was. I don?t think the switch looks bad as its quite small and was installed by a professional. Other than that its what you?d expect from a guitar this old. QUALITY!!!

As for price ,I would like to get $650 for this. Shipping would be extra as I?d like to put insurance on this in case anything happened.

So, tell all your friends and let me know!!!

Chris

He drilled a hole in the top? What kind of butcher was this guy?

You don't do that to a classic guitar. it destroys any value as a classic, and turns it into just a used guitar. (You've priced it properly as such- good job on that)

What he should have done if he'd had any sense was use the switch in a push-pull pot so that no changes could be detected when he reverted it back.

Do you have pictures of this guitar on line?
If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.
