My dad just got an iPhone and we were going through the setup. It says Visual voicemail requires a new voicemail box. All current voicemail messages will be erased.

He needs some of the saved messages for work. Will he still be able to access them from his old phone or are they completely erased? I'm guessing he's going to have to wait an extra day before activation because of this.

thanks for any help!

Yeah, we ended up forwarding the messages to another phone before activating it. His old phone was on it's last legs, so he really wanted to activate it.
