I think the concept is very cool but I'd recommend not to use lens flare. Most newbies like to over-use lens flare
Other than that, I think it isn't bad
p.s. be sure to post all of your desktop bg images to www.macdesktops.com . I think they could use some new desktop bg

I agree to at least think about loosing the lens flare. I'm not wild about the aqua pill in the center either, but I like the ripple design!

Yea, I'll echo the lens flare as well. If you want a glimmer do it yourself. PS has the star custom shape, thin it out and stretch it then get a huge soft brush at low opacity and dab a glow around the cneter of the glimmer star. Also the aqua button isn't lickable. It isn't shiny so it's not in the same level as aqua. The water is cool but a tad flat, 2 dimentional.
Keep up the good work tho, and if you can, make some 23" sets (1920x1200) Not many for us out there.

Well thanks for the critiscism, didn't know people were so anti-lens flare. I personally love the lens flare....I love how the sun setting over the water, it's glimmer leaves a lens flare...or even a retina flare . As for being a novice, I consider myself intermediate...I have been working in Photoshop for over three years now. I am better at at drawing and sketching, something most Photoshop users know nothing off. To answer ambush,I don't consider myself a graphic designer...more of an artist....I don't know what you mean by serious, if you could elaborate on that statement. And finallly, KidRed, I'm aware the water is flat....but that's intended, I wasn't going for realistic...more for abstract.
Here is a preview of the modified desktops; I removed the lens flare, softened the "pill" and added a new desktop with a white background. Fire away.
Actual desktops here: Aqua White // Aqua White G // Aqua 2 // Aqua G2

Well, it's never been used, so I'm new to this whole Paypal donation thing. But here's the link: click here for anyone who might be kind enough to donate. Or if you wish to send your donations through the good old mail and save me the hassle of Paypal...email me Thanks.
