WTF?

There is a Pontiac Montana urban assault vehicle commercial at the beginning of the DVD, and I can't skip it or fast forward thru it.

That is totally @#$%^@#$ obnoxious.

I'll take that over the normal 3-4 commercials during a visit to the movie theatre...to which I paid 5x a movie rental.

I hate both. Movies are 2X the price of rentals here though.

Gah...DVDs are becoming more annoying as the years go by. Just like VHS did, only now they can disable your fast-forward button. Bastards.

I have something to say about theater audiences who laugh at commercials they have already seen ten times.

maybe the people laughing have tivo and haven't seen an ad on television for 4 years.

I didn't watch the superbowl this year and the first movie I saw after it aired had some pretty funny ads for me.

Well, at least the movie was good. I'm glad it's not a movie I'd wanna buy to watch more than once though. That urban assault vehicle ad would get real old real fast.

Err... what price-range are rentals, then? And movie tickets? And DVDs?

And how can a movie ticket be five times a rental DVD? I haven't rented videos/DVDs for a couple of years now, but last time I did, renting one DVD was about the same price as a movie ticket (I think 50 DKr / USD 8.66), and a DVD was/is about four times that amount.

Here you pay like 1.50 for a rented DVD and about 7.00 for a movie ticket.

Wow... I should move to Belgium for the DVD rental prices alone.

Maybe it's gotten cheaper up here too, though, I don't know..

Usually CAD$5 (US$4) for a rental, and CAD$10 to go to the movies. DVDs are about CAD$15-30.

Rip the movies. even if you don't want to keep a permanent copy, you can disable UPOs (user prohibited options or something along those lines; they're what disables the FF/menu buttons during ads) as you rip, so you can skip FBI warnings and forced ads and such.

its about $4.00 rental, and $7.00-$8.00 for a movie here...

I wonder sometimes when people say they have to play like 15 bucks for a movie ticket .
